Design engineers
at RIC have developed the company's own cable assembly system
that will endure the severest of environmental conditions. The
molded cable assemblies were recently tested under numerous rugged
conditions, and tolerated every one of them.
RIC's design engineers were assigned the challenge of developing
a cable assembly that would meet the many rugged conditions a
military vehicle would need to undergo. The environmental conditions
the cable system was subjected to and passed consisted of tests
developed by the Society of Automotive Engineers, US Council for
Automotive Research and Military Standards. This included:
- Isolation
resistance
- High temperature to 125 degrees Celsius
- Low temperature to - 40 degrees Celsius
- Contamination by fluids
- Handling drop test
- Insulation rub test
- Corrosion testing (1,000 hours of salt fog).
